Description
Version 1.2.2 Add a dynamic and stylish touch to your creations. This script gradually transitions the emissive tint of your materials through three fully customizable colors — from glowing red to vibrant green to electric blue, or any palette you prefer. The result is fluid and mesmerizing, perfect for interactive objects, neon signs, sci-fi props, shop displays or teleportation portals. No scripting skills needed. New in 1.2.2: a material is written only when its color really changes (about four times fewer writes with the default cycle, no visible difference), the cycle follows the real elapsed time even on a busy server, a write delayed by Sansar is simply retried, and Debug Logging reports the measured write rate. Settings grouped by category in the Build panel. Fully standalone. ________________________________________ Key Features Colors • 3 customizable colors (RGBA), a cycle from 0.1 s to 10 min • Hold a color for a third of the cycle by giving it to two consecutive fields Materials — one field, four ways • Leave it empty = the first material of the object • Type * = every material of every scriptable mesh • Type a comma-separated list = several materials by name (e.g. Glow, Neon Left, Neon Right) • End a name with * = every material starting with that name (e.g. Neon*) • Material names are case-insensitive Performance • Adjustable update interval (20 ms to 1 s) and per-write fade • Writes only when the color really moved (1.2.2) ________________________________________ Technical Details • 8 settings in four groups: Cycle, Materials, Performance, Debug • Requires a Scriptable mesh and a material with Tint • Safe by design: materials without Tint and non-scriptable meshes are skipped; a name that is not found gets a warning listing the names available • Optional Debug Logging: materials found, targets chosen, write rate every 10 s • A material that keeps failing is dropped after 5 failures; a delayed write is retried ________________________________________ Example Uses • Neon signs and shop displays • Portals, teleporters, sci-fi consoles • Party lights and dance floors • Ambient color drift on a whole object (*) ________________________________________ Full documentation online: https://mpp-mainstore.com/sansar/EmissiveColorCycle/ ________________________________________ Updating from 1.2 • Your settings are kept when you update the script: the 8 settings keep their values, they only move into groups. Take a screenshot of the Build panel first, update one object and check it before doing the others. • What changes: fewer writes with slow cycles (no visible change expected), a cycle that no longer slows down on a busy server. Changelog — Version 1.2.2 • Version number only. Changelog — Version 1.2.1 • A material is written only when its color moved by more than one 8-bit step; one exact write when it stops. • The cycle follows the real elapsed time. • A write delayed by Sansar is retried instead of counting as a failure. • Non-scriptable meshes reported only when it matters. • Settings grouped by category; Debug Logging reports the write rate. Changelog — Version 1.2 • Target Materials: empty, *, a list of names, or a prefix. • Tint and Scriptable checks, adjustable update interval, anti-spam on repeated failures. Changelog — Version 1.1 • Three-color cycle on the first material or on one exact material name. ________________________________________ Enjoy and Keep Good Vibes.
